As they become ready to take on the difficult problems facing society, the Knight Hennessy Scholars program at Stanford University develops a broad, multidisciplinary community of up-and-coming leaders from all over the world and helps them to cooperate, invent, and communicate. Through the King Global Leadership Program, students will gain new perspectives, hone their abilities, and fortify their moral fiber. They will also have the opportunity to engage in local and international study abroad programs, workshops, meetings with leaders, and personal growth opportunities.

The seven schools at Stanford homes the Knight-Hennessy Scholars. Talented individuals makes up the Knight-Hennessy Scholars, an interdisciplinary network of scholars. The program gives you the tools to enhance your leadership skills with purpose and gives you the ability to have a significant beneficial impact on the world.

Award Details

The Knight Hennessy Scholars Program is designed to build a multidisciplinary community of Stanford graduate students dedicated to finding creative solutions to the world’s greatest challenges.

Each year the Knight Hennessy Scholars program identifies a group of 100 high-achieving students from around the world with demonstrated leadership and civic commitment to receive full funding to pursue a wide-ranging graduate education at Stanford.

As a Knight-Hennessy Scholar, you may pursue an education in any of Stanford’s graduate programs including master’s and doctoral degrees in business; earth, energy and environmental sciences; education; engineering; humanities and sciences; law; and medicine.

Eligibility

  • Applications from citizens of all countries are encouraged
  • Must be applying to enroll in a full-time graduate degree program at Stanford
  • Must be applying within four years, and enrolled within five years after first earned bachelor’s degree

Each year, the Knight Hennessy Scholars program chooses 100 worthy students from all over the world who have demonstrated a commitment to leadership and civic involvement.

After that, these people receive complete funding to pursue in-depth graduate studies at Stanford. As a Knight-Hennessy Scholar, you are qualified to apply to any graduate program at Stanford, including master’s and doctoral degrees. Application Timeline

Application Opens: June 1st, 2024

Application Due Internally to Mines (optional): Friday, September 6th 2024

In order to be eligible for the Knight Hennessy Scholars Program, an institution must endorse. Please contact Ashley Weibel as soon as possible to submit an application to be approved by Mines. Completed applications must be submitted by the first week of September each year. The Office of Nationally Competitive Scholarships must receive your complete application—including reference letters—by the Internal Deadline in order for it to be endorsed.

The Knight Hennessy Scholars Program 2025 presents a remarkable prospect for graduates with a forward-thinking mindset who are keen to understand the global aspects across cultures.

Furthermore, there is a good chance that students who demonstrate leadership skills from their past experiences and serve as role models for others to make positive changes may be awarded this prestigious scholarship in the United States. Every graduate, regardless of gender, age, nationality, or race, is eligible for the Stanford University Scholar program. The goal of this Stanford scholarship is to encourage teamwork and volunteerism.

The chosen students will also have the opportunity to participate fully in the King Global Leadership Program (KGLP) as part of the Knight-Hennessy Scholarship Program. As students continue their education, they will gain a comprehensive understanding of technical and leadership skills.

The scholars will also acquire a special technique for making decisions under pressure and in unclear circumstances, enabling them to use creativity to overcome complex situations. The Knight Hennessy Scholars Program serves as a growing and educational platform. Nearly 9000 domestic and international students reside in Stanford University’s Dening House. By connecting with others, the community of scholars gets the chance to hone their interpersonal and collaborative skills.

In addition, Stanford University Dening House acts as a gathering place for Knight-Hennessy Scholars to stay in close proximity to one another while exchanging thoughts and experiences. In addition, this Dening House received the AIA Silicon Valley Design Award 2020. This indicates that the beauty, tranquility, and atmosphere of Denning House have a highly beneficial and constructive effect on the scholars who stay there.

Knight-Hennessy Scholarship Benefits:

  • A funding stipend will be awarded to the scholars for a maximum of three years following their acceptance and selection.
  • A stipend to pay for books and related costs
  • There will be a living stipend given.
  • A stipend for living and schooling will be provided, covering modest personal expenses, books, academic supplies, instructional materials, local transportation costs, and accommodation and board.
  • Each year, a return economy class ticket to and from Stanford will be provided.
  • A one-time allowance for moving
  • An additional grant will be given to enhance educational understanding through travel and conferences.
  • A specific summer grant for the course will be awarded to the scholars who select research projects for summer study.

Eligibility Criteria of the Knight Hennessy Scholars Program 2025:

  • The award is open to graduates of any nationality, ethnicity, gender, or age.
  • The applicant must be enrolled and accepted full-time in a Stanford graduate degree program in order to be eligible for the grant.
  • The candidate must have just started their graduate program.
  • The candidate’s bachelor’s degree must have been awarded by January 2018 or later.
  • Applicants from the US military, whether active or retired, must have obtained their degree by January 2015 or later.
  • The candidate needs to meet these three requirements: 1) Individuality of mind 2) Leadership with purpose 3) The Civic Attitude.
  • All graduate programs at Stanford accept the TOEFL. But PTE and IELTS are also accepted in the MBA program.

How to apply for the Knight Hennesy Scholars Program 2025?

The Stanford University graduate degree program and the scholarship must be applied for separately in order for an applicant to be considered.
The applicant must specify which Stanford degree program they intend to apply to on the scholarship application.
The Knight-Hennessy Scholarship application must be completed online.

The online application must be used to submit the application materials in English.
When applying, it is advised that the candidate use a more advanced version of Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome.
